This page describes privacy practices specifically for Volume Balance, the browser extension (Chrome, Firefox) and Safari app (macOS, iOS) that levels out loud and quiet audio across websites. For the general adelvo.io website policy and GDPR/CCPA rights, see the general Privacy Policy.
Volume Balance is a browser extension (Chrome, Firefox) and Safari extension (macOS, iOS) that processes audio of the page you are currently listening to using the browser's built-in Web Audio API. It applies dynamic range compression and an optional master volume so that loud and quiet passages of videos, music, podcasts, and social-media clips become more even.
All audio processing happens locally inside the browser. Audio is never recorded, never uploaded, and never leaves your device. Adelvo operates no server that receives audio, transcripts, listening history, or telemetry from the extension.
For the full legal entity details, see the Impressum.
Volume Balance attaches to <audio> and <video> elements on the page you are using and routes their audio through a compressor and gain stage in the Web Audio API. The processed audio is sent straight to your speakers or headphones.
The extension requests the following browser permissions, each used only for the purpose listed:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| storage | Save your settings, presets, and (for Chrome / Firefox) license information locally in the browser. |
| host permissions (all sites) | Attach to the audio elements of the page you are listening to. Volume Balance does not read page text, forms, cookies, or any other content of the page. |
| api.keygen.sh (Chrome / Firefox) | Validate a paid license key with our license provider. Used only after a license has been entered. |
There is no microphone access, no camera access, no clipboard access, and no access to your browsing history.
The extension stores the following data locally, using the browser's built-in extension storage (storage.sync / storage.local):
If you are signed into your browser with a sync account (Google account in Chrome, Mozilla account in Firefox, iCloud in Safari), your browser may synchronise these values between your own devices. This synchronisation is performed by your browser vendor — Adelvo does not see this data.
Volume Balance for Chrome and Firefox uses Keygen (api.keygen.sh) to validate paid licenses. Network requests to Keygen are made only:
The following data is sent in these requests:
navigator.userAgent), used as a label so you can recognise this device in your license overviewIf your device is offline, the extension continues to work with the last successful verification for up to 30 days. There is no telemetry channel and no other server contact.
Volume Balance for Safari does not use Keygen. License entitlement comes directly from the Apple App Store receipt and is checked on-device. No data is sent to Adelvo or to Keygen for the Safari version.
| Version | Merchant of Record | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Chrome / Firefox | Paddle.com Market Limited | paddle.com/legal/privacy |
| Safari (macOS / iOS) | Apple Inc. (App Store) | apple.com/legal/privacy |
Adelvo never sees your full payment details (card number, billing address, etc.) — only the anonymous entitlement information needed to mark the license as active.
License keys are stored only on the device, in the browser's extension storage. They are never transmitted to anyone other than Keygen, and only for the purposes of license validation described in section 6.
Volume Balance contains no analytics SDKs, no tracking, no advertising identifiers, no crash reporting. No telemetry is sent to Adelvo or any third party from the extension itself.
Because Volume Balance does not send any personal data to Adelvo, there is typically no data on our side to access, rectify, or delete. If you nevertheless have a request, contact us at hello@adelvo.io. Your full GDPR and CCPA rights are described in the general Privacy Policy.
For data held by Paddle (in connection with your purchase) or by Keygen (in connection with your license record), please exercise your rights directly with the respective provider, or contact us and we will forward the request.
You can erase all locally stored extension data at any time by:
Volume Balance is a general-purpose audio utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them.
We may update this policy as the extension evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
